Gambling with Vintage Ghosts

       The Martingales are singing
in the Palace of Dead Muses.

       Their songs chase thoughts
       like horses from another world,

       stumbling through white holes
       in perfection’s empty pockets.

       Hoofless prints punctuate desire:
the irony of a Buddha collection.

       Back home, gypsy moths
dance on your black wool windows

       celebrating the desecration
       of your wardrobe.
