you slow-moving scoundrel
flashing through blue
flip speed slow with tideandbreak
skim surface
mouth opens and stays
sated plankton vacuum
buffeting denticles
hide eyeballs
retracted into deep
line upon line gleaming
serrations smoothed by the trudge
of millenia
stayed by water
to wash ashore is to be crushed
under cartilaginous ambition
mouth opens and current flows
past swerve of shore, past bend of bay
and water turns to air
fingers come up silent
